Slim safety door switch with 2NC contacts and 3 m cable
The Omron D4GS-N2R-3 is a slim safety door switch built for guarding access points on machinery. It carries two normally-closed slow-action contacts (2NC) that positively break when the guard opens — the slow-action mechanism means the contacts are forced open by the actuator cam, not relying on spring return alone, which meets the positive-opening requirement of IEC 60947-5-1. The R in the order code indicates horizontal key insertion, so the actuator enters from the side rather than head-on. Operating speed range is 0.1 to 0.5 m/s, with a maximum of 30 operations per minute, so it's designed for normal-speed guard doors, not high-cycle applications like a press with a fast reciprocating guard.
The 3 m cable is factory-attached, so no separate connector or field wiring is needed for the switch body — just route the cable to the control panel or safety relay. The slim profile (the D4GS family is narrower than standard safety switches) saves rail space when multiple switches are ganged on a single guard door. The cable carries the 2NC circuit; verify the wire colours against the Omron wiring diagram before terminating.
