Safety switch built for guard-door cycle times
The Omron D4GS-N3T-5 is a slim-profile safety door switch with a 2NC/1NO contact block (slow-action). That NC pair is what ties into the safety circuit — the NO channel feeds the PLC a door-closed status for the HMI or sequence start. The 5 m cable gives you reach from the door hinge to the panel gland without a junction box. Rated for 30 operations per minute max and an operating speed range of 0.1 to 0.5 m/s, this switch keeps pace with a typical guard door on a conveyor or machine cell. The 100 A conditional short-circuit current (per EN60947-5-1) means it can ride through a fault upstream without welding the contacts, as long as the upstream protection is sized correctly. Conventional free-air thermal current is 2.5 A (Ith per EN60947-5-1). That's the continuous current the contacts can carry in open air — enough for signalling loads and small solenoids, not for switching a motor directly.
Mounting and orientation
Key insertion direction is vertical. The switch body mounts on the fixed frame, the key on the guard door.
