Safety-door switch with solenoid lock — D4NL4FFGB
The Omron D4NL4FFGB is a solenoid-locked safety-door switch from the D4NL series, a class of part designed to guard access to hazardous machine areas by locking the door closed until the control system removes power from the solenoid. The 1NO + 4NC contact configuration means one normally-open feedback channel for the safety controller and four normally-closed channels wired in series for the safety circuit — a layout that gives you redundancy for the safety loop plus a separate monitoring path, all in a single housing. Rated for 3 A at 240 VAC and 270 mA at 250 VDC, so it handles the signal-level loads typical of safety PLC inputs and contactor coils. The IP67 rating means the switch body and the key entry are sealed against washdown — suitable for food, beverage, or pharmaceutical lines where hose-down cleaning is routine.
Screw terminals accept 0.5–2.5 mm² stranded or solid wire. The four head directions (entry from top, bottom, left, or right) let you orient the actuator approach to match the door swing without additional cams or adapters. Panel cutout dimensions follow the standard D4NL footprint — 88.5 mm wide × 95 mm tall, 35.5 mm behind the panel.
Electrical endurance
Mechanical life is rated at 1 million cycles; electrical life at 500,000 cycles at rated load. That's typical for a solenoid-lock switch in this class — the mechanical figure governs door-open/close wear, while the electrical figure reflects contact erosion under the rated switching current. For light signal-level loads (24 VDC, 10–50 mA), the electrical life extends well beyond the catalog number.
