Omron E2B-M12KN05-WP-C2 2M — inductive proximity sensor in a threaded M12 barrel, unshielded, with a 5 mm sensing range and NPN normally-closed output. Switches at 800 Hz, runs on 10 to 30 VDC, and carries an IP67 rating for washdown or damp environments. The 5 mm sensing distance is for an unshielded mount, meaning the face needs clearance from surrounding metal. If your target is small or you're up against steel, check that the 5 mm gives enough headroom. 800 Hz response frequency handles high-speed counting on a conveyor or a rotating shaft. NPN-NC (normally-closed) output is the fail-safe wiring — if the sensor loses power, the output opens.
