Fit and function at a glance
The E2B-M12LN08-M1-C1: This is an unshielded M12 inductive proximity switch with an 8mm sensing range, NPN output, normally open, terminated with a built-in M12 connector. The unshielded construction means the sensing field emanates from the face and wraps around the sides—so you need a non-metallic mounting surface or adequate air gap to the body if flush-mounting in metal. If the target is ferrous, expect the full 8mm; non-ferrous metals reduce the range. The brass housing and threaded body hold up in industrial environments, but because it's unshielded, routing the cable away from VFD or contactor power lines is good practice—otherwise noise from those sources can couple into the unshielded sensing head and cause false triggers.
Mounting and integration notes
Threaded 12 mm cylindrical brass body, long barrel length, M12 connector oriented axially at the end. NPN normally open output switches on when metal enters the 8 mm window.
