2 mm shielded sense — tight metal target detection
The E2B-S08LS02-MC-B2: The E2B-S08LS02-MC- is a shielded M8 inductive proximity sensor with a 2 mm sensing distance on ferrous metal. The shielded construction means it can be flush-mounted in metal without false triggering from the surrounding material — essential when the sensor pocket is drilled into a machine frame or fixture plate. Output is PNP normally closed (NC), so the signal drops when the target enters the 2 mm window. This suits fail-safe interlock logic where a loss-of-target condition (sensor blocked) must be detected as a break in the circuit.
M8 connector, stainless barrel
The sensor terminates in an M8 connector. The cylindrical body is stainless steel with metric thread. The 8 mm barrel and long-body format give it reach into confined sensor pockets where a short barrel would leave the sensing face recessed too far to detect the target reliably.
