The Omron E2BM12KN08WPB15MOMI is an M12 cylindrical inductive proximity sensor from the E2B series, delivering an 8 mm sensing distance in a non-flush mount configuration. That 8 mm is the maximum detectable range for a standard steel target — derate for aluminum or stainless targets per the manufacturer's correction factors. The PNP normally open output switches at 800 Hz, fast enough for moderate-speed part detection on conveyor lines or pneumatic cylinder position feedback. Housed in a brass barrel with IP67 protection, it handles washdown and oily environments common on automotive transfer lines or packaging machinery. The 5 m integral cable simplifies installation in tight panels where a separate connector would add another junction to seal.
Integration dimensions
The M12 barrel measures 17 mm across the hex and 47 mm body length. Non-flush mounting means the sensor face must protrude beyond any surrounding metal — the standard rule is a clearance zone of at least two times the sensing distance (16 mm) around the barrel to avoid false triggering. The 5 m PVC cable exits the rear, so plan for cable routing and strain relief in the panel. The 10 mA current consumption and 200 mA load current mean it can drive a PLC input directly or a small relay without an interposing amplifier.
