8 mm flush-mount in an M18 barrel
The Omron E2BM18KS08WPC12MOMI is an M18 inductive proximity sensor with an 8 mm flush-mount sensing range on mild steel. Flush mounting means the face sits level with the mounting surface — no dead zone around the barrel, so you can pack sensors closer together in a rail or turret. The brass nickel-plated housing and IP67 rating let it take washdown spray and coolant splash without sealing worries. The 2 m cable exits the barrel — no connector to mate, one less failure point in a vibrating line.
NPN output and switching speed
NPN (sinking) output, rated 200 mA continuous load. The sensor itself draws 10 mA from the 10–30 VDC supply, so loop current with a typical 24 VDC PLC input is under 15 mA — well within the capacity of a standard control transformer. Switching frequency is 500 Hz, which means the output pulse width is about 1 ms at nominal speed. That's fast enough for counting parts on a conveyor or detecting gear teeth on a slow shaft, but the downstream PLC input filter needs to be set to under 1 ms to catch every edge.
Temperature and physical fit
The 24 mm barrel diameter and 56 mm body length fit a standard 22.5 mm panel hole with the supplied locknuts.
