Sensor fit and output logic
The Omron E2BM30KS15M1B1OMI is an M30 cylindrical inductive proximity sensor from the E2B series, designed for flush mounting in metal. Its 15 mm sensing distance covers standard gap requirements for detecting ferrous targets through non-ferrous barriers up to that range — useful on transfer lines where the sensor sits behind a stainless steel bracket. Output is PNP normally open (make contact), rated for 200 mA continuous load at 10–30 VDC. The 250 Hz switching frequency is adequate for counting parts at moderate line speeds; for faster cycles (above 500 Hz), a smaller-diameter E2B variant with higher frequency would be needed.
Environmental and mechanical
Rated IP67, the brass nickel-plated housing withstands washdown and coolant splash in machining cells. The M12 connector (4-pin, standard) mates with common quick-disconnect cables — no hardwiring required. Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 70 °C, covering most indoor industrial environments without derating. Overall length is 64 mm, which fits standard M30 mounting brackets and through-hole panels. Current consumption is 10 mA, negligible for the control-loop power budget.
