What this sensor is and what it does
The Omron E2BM30LS15M1B1OMI is a flush-mount M30 inductive proximity sensor from the E2B series, with a 15 mm sensing distance and PNP normally open output. 15 mm on a flush-mount body means it can detect ferrous targets through a standard 15 mm gap — enough for position feedback on small cylinders or part-present detection on a conveyor where the target passes within that range. The 250 Hz switching frequency keeps up with moderate line speeds; not for high-speed counting, but fine for valve position or clamp confirmation.
Panel and machine integration
The M30 thread and 36 mm hex body fit standard 30 mm mounting holes in brackets or machine frames. Flush-mount means it can be embedded in a steel bracket without derating the sensing range — a non-flush sensor would need a larger standoff. The M12 4-pin connector (E2B standard pinout) keeps wiring consistent with other M12 sensors on the line; no need to keep a separate crimp tool for pigtail sensors. IP67 brass housing handles coolant splash and washdown in machining centers or packaging lines.
