2 mm flush-mount sensing in an M8 barrel
The E2BS08KS02WPB15MOMI is an M8 inductive proximity sensor from Omron's E2B series, with a flush-mount sensing face that detects ferrous targets at 2 mm. That 2 mm range is at the short end for an M8 — the correction factor for stainless steel targets drops it to about 1.4 mm, so the target must be close and the mounting surface must be non-ferrous behind the sensor face to avoid false triggers. The PNP normally-open output switches at 1.5 kHz, which is fast enough for counting small parts on a vibratory feeder or detecting cam position on a rotary actuator. The downstream PLC input filter must be set to pass 1.5 kHz edges — a standard 3 ms debounce filter will miss them.
IP67 stainless housing with a 5 m cable
The stainless steel barrel and the cable-entry seal give this sensor an IP67 rating, so it survives washdown in food processing lines or coolant splash on a machining center. The 5 m cable is pre-wired — no mating connector needed, and the length covers most runs from the sensor to a junction box or PLC cabinet without a splice. Flush mounting means the sensor face sits level with the mounting surface, so the M8 barrel fits into a tapped hole without protruding. The 13 mm body width is the hex-nut dimension across the flats — the barrel itself is 8 mm diameter.
