Integrator note on the E2CY-X1R5A
The Omron E2CY-X1R5A is an M5 shielded proximity sensor from the E2CY series, built specifically for non-ferrous metal detection — aluminum being the primary target. Sensing distance is 1.5 mm, and the unit requires a separate amplifier; output type (NPN or PNP) is determined by the amplifier model, not the sensor head itself. Mounting is via a bracket with a 5 mm hole or an M5x0.5 threaded hole. Shielded construction allows flush mounting in metal without derating the sensing range. Output is NO/NC selectable through wiring, giving flexibility on fail-safe logic. Case is stainless steel; cable is 3 m PVC. Overall length 18 mm (threaded portion 15 mm).
