M4 barrel, 0.8 mm detection — tight-space fit
The Omron E2E-S04SR8-WC-C1 2M is a shielded inductive proximity sensor in an M4 x 0.5 threaded barrel, with a 0.8 mm sensing distance on ferrous metal. The 4 mm diameter body fits into tight mounting holes where larger barrels won't go — think small actuator position feedback or miniature gripper jaw detection. Shielded construction means it can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing range, so you don't lose detection margin when countersinking into a machine frame.
NPN output and wiring constraints
Output is DC 3-wire NPN open-collector, normally open — the transistor sinks current when the target is present. This mates directly with sinking (NPN) PLC input modules common in Asian-origin control systems; for sourcing (PNP) inputs you need a pull-up resistor or a logic-level converter. Supply range is 10-30 VDC, so it runs on a standard 24 VDC control bus without a separate regulator. The 2-meter PVC cable is pre-wired — no connector to source or crimp, but the cable length is fixed, so plan the junction box location accordingly.
Sourced to order against BOM quantities through independent distribution.
