The Omron E2E-S05N03-MC-B2 is a 5 mm diameter threaded inductive proximity sensor with a 3 mm sensing distance. It is unshielded, normally closed, and uses a DC 3-wire PNP open-collector output via a 3-pin M8 connector. Designed for tight mounting holes in automated machinery, conveyor lines, and pneumatic actuators where space is limited.
Mounting and wiring in the panel
Threaded case accepts a 5 mm hole. The 3-pin M8 connector mates with standard M8 cordsets; wire according to PNP N/O? No—this is normally closed, so the output transistor is on until target is sensed. Confirm PLC input logic accordingly. Unshielded design means no derating for side-by-side mounting, but maintain a gap of at least twice the sensing distance to adjacent metal.
