Sensor at a Glance – 5 mm Thread, 3 mm Range, NPN Out
Omron E2E-S05N03-WC-C1 is a small-diameter inductive proximity sensor. The threaded SUS case (M5 outer diameter) and 3 mm sensing distance suit tight-fit applications. Output is NPN normally open on a 3-wire DC circuit, unshielded, terminated with a PVC pre-wired cable. The unshielded construction gives you the full 3 mm sensing depth into metal – no derating for flush mounting.
Mounting & Wiring – Tight-Space Ready
Body diameter: 5 mm threaded (M5) or 5.4 mm cylindrical – verify thread or smooth bore for the hole pattern. PVC cable exits the back; plan your cable gland location accordingly. DC 3-wire NPN: black wire is output (NO), brown is +V, blue is GND. Confirm sinking input compatibility on your PLC module. No special isolation needed – standard 3-wire hookup.
