What It Is and What the Ratings Mean for Fit
The E2E-S05S12-WC-C1 2M is a shielded inductive proximity sensor from Omron's E2E Small Diameter series. Its 5mm threaded case fits tight mounting spots typical on hydraulic cylinders or machine tool changers. Shielded construction means you can mount it flush in a steel block without derating the 1.2 mm sensing distance. Output is a 3‑wire NPN open-collector, normally open — a sinking signal that expects a sourcing PLC input. The 2 m PVC cable gets you to a nearby junction box or terminal strip.
