What it is and what it does
The Omron E2E-X10D1-M1G is a shielded inductive proximity sensor from the E2E/E2E NEXT series, offering a 10 mm sensing range in a standard-length body. It operates as a DC 2-wire, normally open device and connects via an M12 connector per IEC arrangement.
Mounting and sensing note
Because the sensor is shielded, the electromagnetic field projects forward only, permitting flush mounting in metallic machine frames without the sensing distance collapsing. The 10 mm range is the rated operating distance for standard steel targets; expect a reduction when sensing non-ferrous materials, following the usual inductive derating curves.
