AC 2-wire inductive proximity switch for metal detection
The OMRON E2E-X10MY1-US 2M is an AC 2-wire inductive proximity sensor with a 10 mm unshielded sensing range, normally open switching output, and a 2 meter PVC cable. The UL certification is standard for this model. It detects ferrous and non-ferrous metals at the rated distance, but unshielded means the sensing field extends laterally — watch for side-target interference in tight panel layouts.
Not a drop-in for capacitive or DC sensors
The E2KQ-X10ME1 is a capacitive sensor with a 3-wire NPN DC output — different sensing technology and wiring. The E2E-X10MY1-US 2M is 2-wire AC; swapping one for the other means replacing the cable and confirming the load can handle AC switching and the target material is metal (inductive) versus any material (capacitive). If your panel is wired for 3-wire DC, this sensor won't work without a rewire.
