A common cross-reference candidate is the E2KQ-X10ME1, but it is not a functional substitute. That sensor is capacitive (detects non-metal), uses a 3-wire NPN output with 10–30 VDC supply, and has a shorter adjustable sensing distance of 6–10 mm. The E2E-X14MD1 2M is inductive, 2-wire, and fixed 14 mm range. Rewiring and sensor type change would be required; they share only the cable-lead termination style and unshielded characteristic.
Standard body length and unshielded design mean the sensor does not need a flush mount; it can be installed with a standard bracket. The 2 m PVC cable reaches most junction boxes without a splice. DC 2-wire wiring is polarity-sensitive, so observe marking.
