The Omron E2E-X15C330-M1 is a shielded M30 proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, offering a 15 mm sensing range in a standard-length barrel. Output is DC 3-wire NPN with both NO and NC contacts, terminated via an M12 connector. The shielded design allows flush mounting in metal, which is the typical choice when the target approach is restricted or the sensor needs to sit in a tight pocket without side-lobe interference.

With a 15 mm sensing range, this M30 sensor gives you about a half-inch of detection before the target hits the face. That range is fixed—no IO-Link adjustment—so the mounting distance must be set mechanically. The NPN output suits sinking inputs common on older PLC models; if your input card expects PNP sourcing, you'll need a converter or a different variant. The M12 connector is a 3-pin industry standard, so field-replacement cabling is easy to find. The standard oscillation frequency is fine for general-purpose metal sensing up to a few hundred operations per second. For high-speed counting or small-target detection, a higher-frequency variant may be needed.
