The Omron E2E-X16MB218-M1 is an inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, housed in an M18 threaded nickel-plated brass barrel (unshielded). Output is PNP normally-closed, 3-wire, with a sensing distance rated at 16 mm. Ingress protection is rated IP67 and IP69K, covering high-pressure washdown and submersion. The switching frequency reaches 400 Hz, and the operating temperature spans -40°C to 85°C with a supply voltage of 10–30 VDC.
Wiring and mounting
The unshielded design allows a longer sensing distance but requires a non-ferrous surrounding environment to avoid early detection of the barrel body. The connector termination (M12 per industry standard) mates with a flying-lead cable; the LED indicator on the rear face confirms power and switching state.
