The Omron E2E-X18MY1 2M is a current-production, unshielded proximity sensor with an 18 mm sensing distance, AC 2-wire normally open output, and a 2 meter PVC cable. It detects ferrous and non-ferrous metal targets without physical contact, typically mounted in control panels or on machine frames for position, presence, or end-of-travel sensing in AC control circuits. The 18 mm sensing distance is suitable for larger targets; the unshielded design extends the sensing field beyond the face of the sensor. The AC 2-wire output allows direct connection to AC control circuits without a separate DC supply.
Keep one in the cabinet if this sensor backs up a production line—no spare, no sleep.
Integration Note
The 2 m PVC cable is pre-attached, so plan for routing through cable glands or wireways. Shield connections are not required for this AC 2-wire design.
