Shielded M8 with IO-Link – what you’re getting
The E2E-X1R5B1T8 2M: Shielded M8 body rated for 1.5 mm sensing distance – hits ferrous targets in tight spots where flush mounting is needed. DC 3-wire PNP normally open output matches most PLC input cards without a pull-up. IO-Link at 230.4 kbps lets the controller pull diagnostics and reconfigure the sensor from the cabinet, no extra pair needed. 2 m PVC cable, standard length for a machine drop.
Don’t confuse with E2C-X1R5AH
The E2C-X1R5AH is a heat-resistant sensor head that runs off a separate amplifier unit – a two-component system. This E2E is a self-contained DC 3-wire device with IO-Link. Wiring and form factor are different; you can’t drop this into a panel wired for E2C without pulling new cable and reconfiguring the controller. If you’re replacing an E2C head, you’re looking at a full circuit change.
