The E2E-X20MD1-M1: Inductive proximity from Omron's E2E line. 20 mm unshielded range, DC 2-wire output — brown positive, blue negative, black switched load. M12 connector mates with standard cordsets; not a gland job. Normally-open configuration. Polarity matters here; if you reverse DC 2-wire it won't switch.

Not a Drop-in for Capacitive Peers
If you see the E2KQ-X10ME1 in the original BOM, don't swap blind. That's a capacitive sensor with a 3-wire NPN output and 6-10 mm range. Different sensing principle, different wiring — this E2E-X20MD1-M1 is inductive 2-wire. Panel rewire required.
