The Omron E2E-X22C230 5M is a shielded M30 inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, offering a 22 mm sensing range with an NPN normally-closed output. It operates on 10 to 30 VDC in a 3-wire DC configuration. The nickel-plated brass housing and PBT sensing face carry IP67, IP67G, and IP69K ratings, so the sensor withstands high-pressure hot-water washdown and temporary immersion.

Mounting and cable

The short-body M30 design (overall length 60.3 mm, threaded length 38 mm) fits into tight panels or slide mounts. A 5 m PVC cable provides the connection; shielded construction prevents false triggering from metal chips or weld spatter. The NPN NC output opens the circuit when the target enters the detection zone. Wire the 3-wire DC supply with correct polarity (brown to +, blue to –, black as output) before powering to avoid damaging the output transistor.
