23 mm sensing depth in a shielded M30
The E2E-X23C230-M1 is a shielded M30 inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series with a 23 mm sensing distance. Output is NPN normally-closed (NC): the sensor opens its transistor when metal enters the sensing field. In a line-down scenario that means a broken wire or power loss looks the same as a target present — the PLC sees a 'safe' state, which is worth considering in your failure-mode analysis. Rated IP67 and IP69K, so it survives high-pressure hot-water washdowns typical in food processing and car‑wash bays. The nickel‑plated brass housing resists corrosion, and the LED indicator gives a quick visual on the floor.
PNP counterpart — same mount, different wiring
The E2E-X22B2L30-M1 is a PNP-NC peer with 22 mm sensing distance, sharing the M30 threaded body, shielding, and connector termination. The NPN-NC output here requires rewiring for PNP panels. For existing NPN‑based installations, the E2E-X23C230-M1 drops right into the same M30 bracket, same connector, same 10–30 V supply. Confirm the NC logic matches your control scheme; if you need NO output, this isn't it.
