Omron's E2E-X2B1T12-R 2M is a shielded inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, sensing ferrous targets out to 2 mm. Output is PNP normally open via 3-wire cable leads, so the load sits off when no target is present—a natural configuration for fail-safe interlock sequences where a broken wire mimics an absent target. Rated IP67 and IP69K, provided the cable exit at the sensor end is properly sealed, this sensor survives high-pressure washdown cycles common in food and beverage or heavy equipment applications. The operating range spans -40 to 85°C, covering both cold stores and steam-cleaning stands.
Shielding and Mounting
Shielded construction means you can flush-mount the M12 barrel into a metal bracket or block without the sensor picking up adjacent metal as a false positive. That makes it a direct fit for cam detection on valve stems or cylinder end-of-stroke where the sensor pocket is steel.
Switching Performance
The 1.5 kHz response frequency handles high-speed counting or encoder-replacement duty on small gears. Supply voltage is 10–30 VDC.
