2 mm sensing distance is tight — expect flush mounting in metal. Shielded construction means no derating when embedded. PNP output sources DC power to the load; normally open closes on target present. IO-Link at 230.4 kbps gives you diagnostic data and remote parameter sets over a standard 3-wire cable.

The E2C-X1R5AH uses a pre-wired cable (3 m) and operates at up to 200 °C. This sensor has an M8 3-pin connector. Sensing distance differs: 1.5 mm vs 2 mm.
