The Omron E2E-X2D1-N 2M is a shielded DC 2-wire proximity sensor from the E2E / E2E NEXT series. It detects ferrous metals at a 2 mm range with normally open output. The 2 m PVC cable and standard body length suit fixed-mount applications in wet or dusty panels. Shielding allows flush mounting without derating the sensing distance.
Installation Note
DC 2-wire configuration reduces cable count but carries a specified off-state leakage current. Verify the PLC input sink current can tolerate the leakage before commissioning. The PVC cable jacket is suitable for general-purpose industrial environments; check chemical compatibility if exposed to cutting oils or solvents.
