The Omron E2E-X2ME2 2M is an inductive proximity sensor in the E2E series, rated for 2 mm sensing distance. Output is NPN normally closed — the load breaks when a ferrous target enters the field. Unshielded design, so keep some clearance from surrounding metal to avoid false triggers. This is a three-wire DC sensor, 2 m PVC cable pre-attached. The NPN NC output works with sinking PLC inputs or relay coils; pull the load to +V and the transistor sinks to ground when the target is absent. Standard oscillation frequency, no self-diagnosis.
