The OMRON E2E-X2Y2 2M is a shielded inductive proximity sensor with a 2 mm sensing distance, normally closed output, and AC 2-wire supply. The cable extends 2 meters and is PVC jacketed — sized for typical industrial sensing zones on conveyors, part detection, or end-of-travel flags. Because it is shielded, it can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing range.
Wiring is straightforward: AC 2-wire, normally closed means the load is energized when the target is absent, so a broken wire or sensor failure opens the circuit — a failsafe signal for safety interlocks and zero-speed detection. The shielded construction permits flush mounting; ensure the sensing face is clear of metal chips or coolant buildup that could dampen the field.
