Shielded proximity, NC output, separable connector
The Omron E2E-X2Y2-M4 is a shielded inductive proximity sensor with a 2 mm sensing distance, normally closed (NC) switching output, and AC 2-wire interface — the latter simplifies two-wire control circuits. The 1/2-20 UNF microchange connector lets you swap the sensor without pulling the cable assembly through conduit.
Mounting and wiring considerations
Shielded construction allows flush mounting in metal. The M8 threaded barrel and 2 mm sensing zone suit detection of small ferrous targets on conveyor or press feed lines. The NC output provides fail-safe detection of target presence; confirm that the load (PLC input or relay) is compatible with AC 2-wire sensor leakage current.
