What it is and what it does
The E2E-X3B1TL8 2M is an Omron E2E NEXT series shielded M8 inductive proximity switch with a 3 mm sensing range and PNP normally open output. The body is long (standard for M8 flush-mount sensors), and the 2-meter PVC cable is factory-attached. It transmits diagnostics and parameter data over IO-Link at 230.4 kbps, letting you back up settings and monitor signal quality without an extra wire.
What the ratings mean for fit
Shielded construction means you can mount this sensor flush in metal — no derating needed on the sensing face. The 3 mm nominal range is for standard ferrous targets. The oscillating circuit runs at standard frequency.
