The E2E-X4MB28-M1: Unshielded construction means the sensing field extends slightly beyond the face diameter — use it where metal-free space around the sensor head allows the full 4 mm range. The normally closed (NC) output suits fail-safe circuits: a broken wire or power loss opens the contact, signaling a fault to the PLC. The PNP (sourcing) output is standard for most PLC digital inputs that expect a positive voltage signal. The M12 quick-disconnect connector keeps field replacement fast — no hardwiring on the line side.
