What it is and why it fits
The Omron E2E-X5B1TL18-M1 is an M18 shielded inductive proximity switch from the E2E NEXT series, with a 5 mm sensing range on ferrous metals. Output is PNP normally open on a DC three-wire configuration, and the body is shielded so it can be flush-mounted in metal without loss of range. The M12 connector makes installation quick, and the built-in IO-Link at 230.4 kbps gives you parameterisation and diagnostic data down to the sensor level.
