The E2E-X5E1 2M is an Omron E2E series shielded inductive proximity sensor with a 5 mm sensing distance, NPN normally open output, and a 2-meter PVC cable. It uses a DC 3-wire configuration with a built-in NPN collector load.
The 5 mm sensing distance applies to ferrous targets; expect a derating factor for non-ferrous metals. Shielded construction enables flush mounting in a metal panel without derating the sensing range. The DC 3-wire NPN normally open output means the load is switched to ground when a target is present. Verify the input card sinks to ground before specifying.
