The Omron E2E-X6B1T12-M1 is an M12 shielded inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series. It detects ferrous targets at 6 mm with a PNP normally open output on a 3-wire DC line, and it carries IO-Link 230.4 kbps capability for diagnostic feedback or parameter adjustment from a controller.
What the ratings mean for your install
Shielded construction allows flush mounting in metal without derating the 6 mm range — useful when the sensor has to sit in a drill spot or near a slide face. The PNP output expects a sourcing input card; if your PLC is NPN, you'll need an adapter or sink-input block. IO-Link communication runs at 230.4 kbps on the same 3-wire cable, so a standard M12 A-coded connector works, with no extra wires for the link.
The M12 connector body is standard length and diameter for a 6 mm range switch. Wire brown to Vcc, blue to common, black as normally open switched output; IO-Link at 230.4 kbps uses the same three wires.
