The Omron E2E-X7D1-N is a current-production M18 shielded inductive proximity sensor with a rated sensing distance of 7 mm, flush-mountable in metal. Output is a 2-wire DC configuration delivering both NPN and PNP normally-open switching, maximum load current 100 mA at 12–24 V DC. The sensor is supplied with a 2 m prewired cable, bare-wire termination.
Environmental and Compliance Suitability
Rated IP67, IP67G, and IP69K, the sensor is fully compliant with washdown and high-pressure cleaning protocols typical in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical lines. The nickel-plated brass body resists cutting oils and coolants, per the Oil Resistance and Washdown Resistant feature listing. Installation and Wiring Notes
The shielded sensing face permits flush mounting in a metal panel without sensitivity loss; the M18 threaded barrel accepts standard lock nuts and toothed washers (supplied). For 2-wire DC operation, verify the residual voltage drop (typically ≤ 3 V at 100 mA) does not starve the load. The NPN/PNP designation means the sensor can switch either as a sourcing (PNP) or sinking (NPN) device depending on wiring polarity – confirm the load polarity before power-up. Minimum load current is 3 mA; below this threshold the sensor may not switch off cleanly.
