Proximity sensor specification
The Omron E2E-X7D1-P1 is a shielded DC 2-wire proximity sensor with a 7 mm sensing distance, normally open output, and a plastic M12 connector. It operates at standard oscillation frequency and has no self-diagnostic function.
Sensing and mounting
The 7 mm sensing distance is rated from the sensor face for a standard target (mild steel). Shielded construction permits flush mounting in metal panels without significant derating, making it suitable for confined installations where the sensor body is embedded. The DC 2-wire design carries both power and switch signal on two conductors. Verify the load current and voltage drop against the connected PLC input or relay; the sensor does not provide self-diagnostic feedback for wiring faults.
