Omron E2E-X8C3L18-M1 is an inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, built to survive daily CIP washdown without compromise. The IP69K rating means it handles high-pressure hot water and caustic detergents at close range—fits right into the splash zone on a dairy filler or packaging line. Shielded to 8mm flush mount, so it sits flush in the machine frame, no exposed face to collect debris. Body is nickel-plated brass, not stainless. That’s the trade-off: brass is cheaper and works for most washdown zones if you rinse after the caustic cycle, but if your line runs aggressive acid rinses daily, you might want the stainless variant in this family. Still, the IP69K seal holds—just watch the thread for corrosion over years of harsh chemical exposure. Switching frequency of 500Hz is fast enough for counting bottles, detecting caps, or sensing on a rotary turret. NPN-NC/NO output gives you flexibility: wire it normally-open for presence detection, normally-closed for break detection, or use both with the three-wire lead.
Washdown Integration Notes
M18 threaded barrel with connector termination: matches standard metric mounting holes and M12 pigtail connectors common on washdown panels. Use a food-grade silicone-free lubricant on the threads to avoid contamination during installation. Supply voltage 10–30 VDC. LED indicator. Operating temperature -25°C to 70°C covers most ambient plant environments; not rated for ovens or freezer tunnels without derating the IP seal life.
