2 mm shielded sense, NC output
The Omron E2E2-X2C2-M1 is a shielded inductive proximity sensor with a 2 mm sensing distance, meaning it detects ferrous targets at close range and can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing field. It switches a normally closed (NC) output — the NPN open-collector transistor is on when no target is present, and turns off when the target enters the 2 mm detection zone.
M12 connector, DC 3-wire
Termination is via a pre-wired M12 connector, which mates with standard M12 cordsets for quick replacement in the field — no hard-wiring into the sensor head. The DC 3-wire NPN output sinks current to ground when active; confirm the PLC input module is configured for sinking (NPN) logic before wiring.
