What it is and what the ratings mean
The E2E2-X5Y2-US 2M is a shielded inductive proximity switch from Omron's E2E2 long-barrel family. Normally closed (NC) operation means the output opens when a target is present — a failsafe choice if power loss needs to signal a stopped state. The AC 2-wire output simplifies wiring: two wires for both power and load, no separate DC supply needed. Shielded construction lets you mount it flush in metal without derating the sensing range. Sensing distance is 5 mm. Cable length is 2 meters. UL-certified model.
