What this sensor is and what it does
Omron E2EC-X4D2 is a shielded inductive proximity sensor, M12 size, NC output, 2-wire DC, 12 to 24 VDC, 4 mm sensing range, 2.4 m PVC cable, nickel-plated brass housing, M12x1 thread or bracket mount.
Where you'll use it
This sensor fits where you need a small, reliable target-present signal in a tight spot — cylinder position, part presence in a fixture, end-of-travel on a slide. The M12 body and flush-mount capability let you sink it into a tapped hole or weld a bracket. The NC output gives a fail-safe: if the sensor loses power or the target leaves, the output opens. It's rated for industrial environments; brass and PVC hold up to coolant splash and vibration.
