What the ratings mean for fit
The 3 mm diameter sensor has 800 µm sensing distance, 15% repeat accuracy, 5 kHz switching, 50 mA load, 10–30 V supply, and 10 mA consumption.
How it compares to a common sibling
If you're familiar with the E2BS08KS02MCB120OMS, note the size gap: that part is an M8-threaded (13 mm hex) sensor with 2 mm sensing distance, 1.5 kHz switching frequency, and a 200 mA load rating via M8 connector. The E2EC03SR8WCB12MOMS is a substantially smaller form factor — cylindrical 3 mm body, 2 m cable, no connector — so it is not a mechanical drop-in. The sensing distance is less, but the switching speed is higher. Choose the 3 mm sensor only when the mounting envelope forces it; the M8 peer is more widely stocked and gives you longer range and higher output current. For a panel already wired for the M8 sensor, the cable-only termination and different barrel dimensions require a new gland and rewire.
Wiring and mounting notes
Flush-mount installation embeds in metal without derating. Cable 2 m for PNP NO; wire brown (10–30 V), blue, black load. IP67 allows washdown.
