Harsh-environment proximity in a compact M18
The E2EH-X7D2-M1G is a shielded M18 inductive sensor rated for environments where washdown and detergents are routine. Its stainless steel case and IP69K seal let it survive high-pressure cleaning cycles that would degrade standard nickel-plated sensors. Sensing distance is 7 mm, typical for a shielded M18 unit, and the normally-closed 2-wire DC output operates from 12 to 24 VDC. The M12 connector simplifies field replacement without repulling cable.
The 2-wire DC output eliminates the need for a separate load resistor in many PLC or relay input circuits, but voltage drop across the sensor must be accounted for in the loop. NC operation means the output opens on target presence — standard for fail-safe circuits. Shielded construction allows flush mounting in metal without derating the sensing distance, a design choice for space-constrained machine frames.
