2 mm unshielded — the fit for tight metal targets
The Omron E2EL-C2MF2-M3 is an unshielded proximity sensor with a 2 mm sensing distance on ferrous metal — the unshielded construction means the field extends beyond the barrel face, so it detects targets even when flush mounting is not required, but the effective range drops with non-ferrous metals per the standard correction factors. Output is PNP normally closed (NC) — the NC state holds the load on when the target is absent; a loss-of-target or sensor fault opens the circuit, which is the fail-safe arrangement for guarding or interlock circuits where a broken wire or sensor failure must stop the machine.
M8 connector and panel integration
Termination is an M8 3-pin connector — the standard 3-wire DC interface mates with a matching M8 cordset (typically brown/blue/black for PNP). The smooth barrel body and M8 connector let this sensor drop into tight mounting holes in machine frames or conveyor side-rails without a separate junction box.
