Omron E2ELX5F12M is an M18 threaded barrel inductive proximity sensor, shielded, with a 5 mm sensing distance and PNP normally open output. Rated for 10–35 V DC supply, it switches 15 mA load current. The 2 m 3-wire cable and IP67 sealing suit machine-mount positions exposed to coolant or washdown.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 5 mm shielded sensing range is for ferrous targets (18 x 18 x 1 mm test piece). Shielded mounting allows flush installation in metal without derating the gap. PNP NO output pulls high when a target is present; verify your PLC sinking input matches that logic level. The alternate order code E2EL-X5F1 2M refers to the same physical sensor, so a panel specified around that part drops in without wiring changes.
