Sensor selection notes
The Omron E2EW-QX5B218 5M is an M18 threaded inductive proximity sensor with a PNP normally-closed output and IP67 enclosure. It senses ferrous and non-ferrous metals at 5 mm with equal sensitivity — a key advantage over standard ferrous-only sensors in mixed-metal lines. The stainless steel sensing face and body (SUS303) provide weld-field immunity, making this sensor a fit for robotic welding cells or stamping presses where weld spatter and magnetic interference are present. Rated for a 10-30 VDC supply, 3-wire DC with normally-closed output. The 5 m PVC cable allows direct connection to a control cabinet without a junction box for most machine layouts.
