Why this isn't a drop-in for the E2FX2F12MOMS
The E2EX15B2L302MOMS: The E2FX2F12MOMS (M12, 2 mm range, plastic housing, NO output) looks similar on paper but won't fit an M30 mounting hole. Different thread size means the hole pattern and target standoff change entirely. Also the E2FX2F12MOMS is normally-open — rewiring required for NC logic. For a panel swap, you'd need to redrill and re-terminate. This sensor is best sourced as a BOM-specified line item, not as a universal substitute for smaller-body sensors.
Flush mount in metal; the sensing face sits flush with the mounting surface. Body length is 82.3 mm — ensure the bracket or through-hole has clearance beyond the M30 hex. Three-wire DC: brown to 10–30 VDC, blue to ground, black PNP NC output (normally closed when target absent). At 250 Hz and 16 mA internal consumption, the 200 mA load current leaves headroom for a small PLC input module without interposing relay.
