Part in a sentence
This Omron E2EX16MB1T18M1OMS is an M18 non-flush inductive proximity sensor from the E2E-Next series — PNP normally open, 16 mm sensing distance, with a 4-pin M12 connector. It's rated for 10–30 VDC, switches up to 200 mA at 400 Hz, and carries IP67 and IP69K protection.
Why the M12 connector version
If you've been using the cable versions like the E2EX16MB1T185MOMS (5 m cable) or the 2 m version, this M12 connector variant drops into the same M18 hole with the same 16 mm sensing and same PNP NO output — but you unplug the old one and plug in the new one. No cutting wires, no terminals. For a line-down swap, that's minutes vs. re-termination. Body length is 53 mm; the 5 m cable version is 55.3 mm, so nearly identical behind the mounting surface. The longer M12 version (75 mm, E2EX16MB1TL18M1OMS) has the same 16 mm sensing and PNP NO output but a longer body. For a drop-in replacement, use this 53 mm part.
Washdown and environment
IP69K means it stands up to high-pressure hot water spray — think food processing washdown or heavy equipment cleaning. The brass nickel-plated housing handles the corrosion. Operating range is -40°C to 85°C, so if your line has hot wash cycles or freezer areas, it's covered. Non-flush mounting means the sensor head needs some space around it to see the target — don't bury it in a metal surround. That's standard for full sensing distance.
